Research Description

My research focuses on using genomics to uncover the origins and evolutionary histories of animals. During my PhD, I applied population genomics to modern heartworm parasites to investigate their geographical origins, mechanisms of global dissemination, and current population structure. At CPG, I will be using palaeogenomics to shed light on the evolutionary history of equids throughout the Pleistocene.
