Palaeogenetics at Stockholm University
We have since several years been offering a course in ancient DNA where we try to cover the broad range of subjects that is making up the basis for our research. The course is given at Master’s level and is 15 credits (“högskolepoäng”), equaling 10 weeks of full-time studies. Except for lectures, the course gives the opportunity to do lab work on real ancient material and to learn the basics of aDNA data analysis. For admission to the course, knowledge is required equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in one of the subjects archaeology, biology-earth science, earth science, biology or molecular biology.
