Research Description
Few studies have thus far been able to examine species dynamics using DNA from individuals greater than one hundred thousand years in age. In my PhD, I will push the limits of ‘deep-time’ palaeogenomics by sequencing genomes of North American mammalian species from the early and middle Pleistocene. My research will improve understanding of the evolutionary history of species including stag moose, muskox, and mammoth.
