Research Description
My research involves using ancient DNA to reconstruct how populations respond to shifting environments. In my PhD at UC Santa Cruz, I used large-scale ancient DNA data to examine bison evolutionary history across Eurasia and North America since the Late Pleistocene, linking this to modern bison conservation and restoration efforts. At CPG, I will generate ancient genomes at million-year scales to study how a range of arctic fauna evolved in response to glacial cycles.
