Research Description
During my PhD I will investigate temporal changes in the genomics of an important pollinator, the bumblebee species Bombus terrestris. By sequencing both historic individuals from museum collections and recent samples, I want to reconstruct the temporal development of the B. terrestris population genetic structure in Sweden over the past ~150 years. One aim of my PhD is to identify possible introgression from commercial bumblebees to wild Swedish populations.
