Research Description

I start by establishing an automated bioinformatic pipeline for the identification of species, especially plants, animals, and insects. After benchmarking the pipeline, to obtain a better understanding of the past community I will apply this pipeline to different ancient sample types: an intact gut sample, and ice-cores. Apart from ancient DNA, I am also interested in analyzing DNA that’s adsorbed by the snow in this season, which could indicate the recent presence of taxa.
